Features and common questions

The essentials in one invoice

Company or self-employed issuer

Choose a company or a person carrying on an economic activity. Enter the business name or the person’s full name and registration or taxpayer number; choose VAT status separately.

Clear calculations

Quantity and unit price, cent rounding, a VAT breakdown by rate and the total amount due.

Reusable templates

Save your company details and usual line items. Select a different customer and a new number for the next invoice.

Issued-invoice history

The saved content of an issued invoice remains unchanged. Download it again even after the trial ends.

Structured XML e-invoice

A fourth export format: UBL 2.1 XML. Enter real party details, buyer reference, bank account and agreed endpoint identifiers; missing fields block the export.

From quote to invoice

Prepare a PDF draft quote or informative prepayment request. Converting it creates a new invoice draft for review; projects are not recorded as issued invoices.

Acceptance draft and email draft

Prepare an acceptance-record project using actual handover details. For an issued invoice, review the recipient and PDF, then download an EML draft to send in your email application; the system sends no emails itself.

VAT and file formats

The tool supports EUR invoices for domestic transactions in Latvia. Registered VAT payers can use 21%, 12% and 5% rates. A non-registered VAT payer, a zero-rated transaction and a VAT-exempt transaction are separate regimes; a legal basis is required where applicable. The issuer chooses the correct tax treatment.

PDF is ready to print; DOCX and XLSX are editable copies. UBL 2.1 XML covers supported ordinary positive domestic EUR invoices with a buyer reference and agreed endpoint identifiers. The saved issued-invoice content stays unchanged.

XML export validates the official UBL 2.1 schema; supported example cases are tested against EN 16931 and Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 rules. This is not a delivery or certification service: no file is transmitted to Peppol, e-adrese or VID. Cross-border transactions, reverse charge, credit notes and advance VAT invoices are unsupported. Latvia’s general structured B2B invoice obligation is scheduled for 2028; separate public-sector requirements apply in 2026.

Common questions

Can a self-employed person issue an invoice?

Yes. Select a self-employed issuer and enter your full name and taxpayer registration number. VAT registration is not inferred automatically; select the status that matches your registration.

When does the free month begin?

On explicit activation or the first export of a new invoice. The period is one calendar month, not 30 days. Saving a template does not start it.

Does no VAT mean a 0% VAT rate?

No. A non-registered VAT payer, a zero-rated transaction and a VAT exemption are different regimes. The tool treats and labels them separately.

Can I reuse a template for another customer?

Yes. A template stores company details and usual line items. For a new invoice, fill in the new customer, dates and a unique invoice number.

Is the XML file submitted to VID automatically?

No. Downloaded XML is a file for use in a compatible system. Check recipient connectivity and applicable reporting requirements against VID’s official information.
